Welcome to Loxton Primary School
Loxton Primary School, in the Riverland of South Australia has enjoyed much success with a healthy increase in enrolments and improved learning outcomes. Facilities improvements including, a new library and hall , full reverse cycle air conditioning, large classroom spaces and whole school technology.
The schools literacy program (WRAP) is highly successful and the school received a National Quality Schooling award (presented in Canberra). The numeracy program has a whole school focus. Other features of the curriculum are German language and physical education (with specialist teachers) and dance/music. The outdoor stadium is a fully covered netball/basketball court with a synthetic floor used each school day for play, sport and instruction. Students can use this facility before school, recess or lunch.
Learning, caring, belonging, respecting and persisting are the embedded school values. The Student Representative Council is very active. The School has interactive whiteboards in every classroom and comprehensive technology facilities and programs including laptop trolleys. Students access computers in each classroom and regularly research using technology in the computer room or library. The parent body are supportive and students show a great deal of pride, cooperation and responsibility.
